Honorably Discharged

I'm Deana Champagne and I'm running as a Republican candidate for Judge of the Superior Court - Division 2.
A bit about me. I'm an honorably discharged, Veteran of the US Army. I'm a devoted wife who stood by and supported my husband as he served a career in law enforcement. I'm a mother to two wonderful sons, and I'm the best friend to two Labrador retrievers.
And of course I'm a lawyer. I have been practicing for over 20 years in a variety of fields. I am currently a prosecutor with the Cochise County Attorney's Office where I handle serious felony cases, including child victim crimes. I've worked as a criminal defense attorney, a civil lawyer handling bankruptcy and contract matters, and as a family law attorney handling divorce and custody cases.
I joined the County Attorney's Office in December of 2024. Before that, I worked juvenile dependency cases where I advocated on behalf of children who had been abused and neglected to try and get them into safe, permanent homes.
I recently suffered great personal loss in my family and it made me realize just how short life is, and how we have to make the most of the time we are on this earth. I have devoted my career to serving others, and I believe that I can make the most of my time by converting my experience and passion for service into being a judge. I have unique experience that makes me particularly qualified to be a Superior Court judge here in Cochise County.
As part of my legal career, I managed a team of up to 30 people developing and implementing programs across Arizona to improve outcomes in the justice system for vulnerable populations. I have worked with inmates looking to rejoin society, and developed a program to place social workers and therapy dogs in schools to help steer at risk youth away from the criminal justice system.
But one program I am particularly proud of is one I helped design and implement in Pinal County to serve veterans. I worked to create a program targeting veterans who were incarcerated in the Pinal County jail. We worked to help them re-enter society and connect with services that specifically helped veterans. I coordinated with the sheriff's office and detention center to implement this program. I have also worked with prosecutors offices, the courts, and social service agencies to ensure better outcomes for veterans and help prevent them from re-offending. The veteran program was a great success and I was invited to speak about it nationally.
Cochise County has a massive veteran and military population, but we don't have a single judge on the Superior Court who has served in the military. I'm running to fix that. I have unique experience working with veterans and as a veteran, and that experience makes me particularly qualified to serve as a judge in this county. If you are passionate about serving veterans, then I'm your candidate for judge of the Superior Court - Division 2.

Your support and contributions will enable me to continue my campaign efforts. All donations would be greatly appreciated.
